For the last three years journalist Barbara Bachmann and I crossed the Italian peninsula and its islands to find out more about the female imagery in Italian society.

Our research has now been published in images and text, in German and Italian, by Edition Raetia.

This year's edition of LUMIX Festival for Young Visual Journalism has moved to a digital concept. My work "Bambola" about gender inequality and female stereotypes in Italian entertainment TV has been selected from more than 1200 applications to be featured here.

My work "Bambola" is currently being exhibited at Copenhagen Photo Festival as part of Photo City at Refshaleøen. The series examines the female imagery that is presented on Italian entertainment TV.

"Franziska Gilli gained access to the institutions and their interns and gives us an exciting, rare insight into the so-called Eurobubble". 

My series "The perfect European" has been awarded with a honorable mention by emerge magazine for young photojournalism.

My work "Bambola" has been shown during a screening by MINT collective at Goethe Exil in Hannover yesterday, amongst other great work by photographers like Rebecca Sampson, Heba Khamis, Filippo Menichetti & Martin Errichiello, Patricia Kühfuss, Robin de Puy, Arko Datto and Cecile Smetana Baudier.

"The perfect European" is currently being displayed in a magazine group exhibition of European photography students in a container village at the Triennial of Photography Hamburg.
